Alfiletero cactus / Cactus pincushion

¡Hola! Hoy os voy a enseñar el cactus-alfiletero que le hice a una amiga como regalo de cumpleaños. Esta amiga está empezando a coser y pensé que sería un buen regalo. Además se lo envolví igual que ponen las plantas en las floristerías, quedó bien mono, como podéis ver en la primera foto. En las demás veremos el patrón que usé y como quedó finalmente.

Hi! Today I'm showing you a cactus pincushion, which I made for a friend's birthday present. This friend is starting to sew, so I though this would be a perfect present. And I wrapped it in the same way plants are wrapped in florists. It is so cute! You can see the final result in the first picture, in the rest you can see the pattern I used to make it and the final result.

Aquí tenéis el patrón para hacer el cactus. Corté 4 piezas como esta en tela verde, que cosí para formar el cactus. Para que os hagáis una idea del tamaño, las líneas negras están a 1 cm de separación. 

Here you are the pattern I used to make the cactus. I cut 4 parts like this in green fabric, and I sewed them to make the cactus. There is 1 cm betwee black lines, so you can reproduce the pattern if you want.

Después de coser las cuatro partes, cosí unos ojos, una boca y también le puse una pequeña flor de ganchillo en la parte de arriba. Aquí lo tenéis ya cosido y relleno. 

After sewing the four green parts, I fixed eyes and sew the smiling mouth. I also sewed a small crochet flower in the top. Here you can see the already stuffed cactus.

También le hice una maceta. Podéis usar una pequeña de arcilla, pero yo he preferido hacerla también. Para ello usé un rollo de cartón (de los de papel higiénico) al que dí forma y resistencia pegándole pedacitos de papel de periódico. Al final, después de varias capas de papeles, la pinté y quedó muy bien. Antes de fijarle el cactus, la llené de alubias (para darle algo de peso), y pegué un círculo de cartón en la parte superior, al que pegué el cactus. Aquí podéis ver todo el conjunto antes de envolverlo.

I also made a plant pot. You may use a small clay pot, but I prefered to make one myself. To make this I used a roll from toilet paper, gluing many small pieces of newspaper paper to strengen it and give it a pot-shape. Finally, after some layers of glued paper, I painted it, and it looked really great. I filled it with some beans, so it would be heavier, I glued a cardboard lid on the top part and I glued the cactus to this lid. Here you can see it before the wrapping.
