Hi there!
Have you ever heard about knitting research?? I've just read about it last week, and I think it is so interesting! Thus, I want to share it. I am talking about KEME, Knitting in Early Moders Europe, an ongoing research project which began as an EU-funded Marie Sklodowska Curie Fellowship at the Centre for Textile Research at the University of Copenhagen.
And the best thing is that anyone can get involved! I just let you the link here:
http://kemeresearch.com/
You may participate knitting or reviewing the evidence and commenting it. And you can also subscribe to receive an eNewsletter reporting all the latest KEME activity.
Enjoy it!! Let's hope they will achieve great and interesting results!!!
Welcome! This is my first blog, I'll try to make it interesting and enjoyable.

Finished!
Hi there!
Just a couple of things today.
Firstly, I have decided I will keep on writing only in English. The two-column format looks nice but it is a bit complicated for me. So, sorry for the Spanish-speaking people, but I will just write in English from now on. And therefore I will practice my English 😄
I want to share this with everyone. I have finished my new jumper. It is knitted top-down, and this is the very first time I make something in this way. It have been a bit difficult, but it is already done. And I am very happy with it!!
The pattern is by Drops Design. Please visit the web, it is full of great and free knit and crochet patterns for everybody.

¡Felices Fiestas! / Merry Christmas!
¡Buenas!
Hi there! This year has just been crazy, and I hardly spend time writing on the blog. The reason is the birth of my first baby-girl, the pregnancy and baby care let me timeless and lacking enthusiasm to write here. I've been crafting anyway, specially knitting and crocheting baby clothes. I hope I will be publishing these things from now on. Today I will just write a nice link for you. At the end of the month, the baby will be given baptism, and I'm going to make paper cones to full them with candies, in order to share them out the attendees. I didn't make up my mind yet, but any of papermatrix's models will be the chosen one. As you can see, in this blog you can find plenty of great printable patterns to make many different objects out of paper. It's amazing. I hope you will like it as much as I do.

Hobbes de ganchillo / Crocheted Hobbes
¡Hola!

Hi! Here I am again. It seems a lot of time has passed from the last time I published something here, but I haven't forgotten about the blog. But some other things happens, things that stole my time, so I couldn't make any craft or write here.
Anyway, here I am. Today I want to show you a nice stuffed crocheted character. It is Hobbes, the famous tiger from Bill Watterson's Calvin & Hobbes. I love the comic, so when I saw this pattern to make a crocheted Hobbes, I couldn't avoid to make one for myself. Here you are the link to the pattern, in a very interesting blog by Sukigirl.

And here is a picture of my Hobbes. It looks so good! Even when I used red yarn instead of orange. I love it anyway.
And here you can see its face closely. I made the eyes, nose and mouth with black yarn.
I hope you liked and you make your own Hobbes. The pattern is quite good, and the final result is so great.

Preparando la Navidad / Preparing Christmas
¡Hola!
Hi! Christmas is closer and closer, and Christmas decorations must be prepared. This year I decided that, instead of Christmas tree, I will decorate my home with the traditional decoration from my homeland, Leon. More details are explained in the following link, but I will make a summary in this post.
http://raigame.blogspot.com.es/p/ramos-leoneses-de-navidad.html
It seems that the origin of this decoration is very old, even older than Romans. It may be a tradition related to winter solstice that was subsequently related to Chrismtas. In this way, it is our version of European Christmas trees.
It seems that, at the beginning, they were just branches of perennial trees, specially holm oak. I suppose that this is the origin of its name, since "ramo" means branch. This kind of ramo was, and it is still, ornated with sweets and coloured ribbons
This old ramo evolved in several ways in different areas. Nowadays the most abundant ramo has triangle shape, and it is ornated with ribbons, candles (one for every month of the year), winter fruits, plant elements, crochet laces, etc.
Thus, since I have no Christmas ramo, I decided to make one. Since I can't make it of wood, I decided to make it of cardboard. In the next post I'll show how I've done it, and how does it look.

Panettone
¡Hola!

Hi! We are getting closer and closer to Christmas. And I feel in the mood to cook. A few days ago I found a easy recipe to make panettone, I copy down the link below. And I have just take my panettone out of the oven. I haven't tryed them yet, but they really look delicious. It's a shame that I didn't have molds enough (the dough grew more than I expected) and those I made with oven paper are a bit crappy.
Here you are the original recipe.

¡Brujas voladoras! / Flying witches!
Today's night is Halloween. To decorate the blog I have added a flying witch. Do you like it? If you want to know how to do it, I paste the link below to get the HTML code. The blog is in Spanish, but you just have to paste the code in you HTML template, before the </body>.

¡Hola!
Hi! These last days I'm becoming Pinterest-adicted! It is a really interesting web, where people from all over the world pin links and pictures of interesting webs. You can find different categories and you may find plenty of inspiration to make new craft or just improve your abilities. I added a tab from which you can visit my boards and check what I find along the web. I hope you will find it useful!

Ocupadísima / Very busy
¡Hola!

Hi there! I have been very busy recently, for different reasons (both about work and personal issues). And I had very little free time, not even enough to write a few lines here. But it seems everything get back to noraml, so here I am again. Today I drop a link that shows an interesting recycling technique, how to make yarn from old T-shirts. In these days I'm working with it, I want to make a kind of basket to put dirty clothes in, and I thought it was a nice idea to use some old T-shirts that I had stored "just in case (I would need them)". So I found the "just in case" and I'm using them to make my basket. I will post a picture as soon as I finish the work. In addition, I think it is a very versatile technique, since you can make plenty of useful things. The only problem is that, if you want quite a big thing, you may need quite a lot of T-shirts. Anyway, I hope you'll like it.

Aquí os dejo algunos, y a disfrutar haciendo jabón.

Happy New Year! To start 2013, I've been making soap yesterday, using the cold process. I didn't make any special o pretty soap, I just wanted to recycle some used oil I had at home. I have done it several time. I started to recycle used oil, since I have no oil trash container near home. But I like to do it, and I use this soap to wash the dishes and also to make liquid soap.
If you had never made soap, maybe the first time may be a bit hard, it seems your mix never gets trace, but it is not complicated at all. You must be careful to calculate amounts of lye and water, depending on the oils you are using. And be extremelly careful handling lye, which is very caustic and releases toxic vapours while dissolving in water. Except from this, it is quite simple.
As you can see, you can use some milk tetra brick as mold, in case you don't have any other thing. Silicon molds used to bake are very good for soap-making.
In this case, I used used olive oil, mixed with some new sunflower oil and a low amount of pigfat (otherwise the soap made only with olive oil is too soft). I will take soap out of the silicon mold tomorrow, and will cut in bars the rest. And then, 4 to 6 weeks of waiting to get the soap cured.
If you feel in the mood to make some soap, there are many webs explaining how to do it. I copied down some here. Enjoy!

¡Me gusta!
http://naughtysecretaryclub.blogspot.com/2012/02/i-love-to-create-fabric-scrap-shoes.html
A few days ago I found this on the internet and I liked it. Maybe, some hand-made sewing in a contrast color could be made also, I've never used fabric glue and I would be afraid that the edges would unstack.
