Reparación con ganchillo irlandés / Irish crochet reparation

¡Hola! Parecía que el blog estaba abandonado, pero ¡no! Ha sido un verano muy ocupado. Pero ya estamos aquí otra vez.

Hoy os voy a enseñar algo que se me ocurrió para arreglar una falda. Cuando la saqué del armario a principios de verano, ¡horror! ¿Y estos agujeros? Menudo disgusto, es una de mis faldas favoritas. Así que me puse a pensar como arreglarlo. Lo primero que se me ocurrió fue cortar la parte de abajo, pero hubiera quedado demasiado corta, y sin la parte naranja. Así que seguí dándole vueltas al problema.

Hi! It may seem that this blog was just forgotten, but no! This summer has been a very busy one. But here we go again!

Today I'll show something I made to repair a skirt. When I took the skirt out of the wardrobe to wear it this summer... my God! What are these holes? I felt really upset, this is one of my favourite skirts. So I started to figure out how to fix it. First I thought about removing inferior part, but then the skirt would be too short. And all orange part would be removed. So I keep on thinking about it.

Entonces decidí hacer un "parche" de ganchillo. Tendría que tener una forma que tapase ambos agujeros, y quedar bien en la falda; encontrar una flor o algo con esa forma concreta era muy complicado, así que decidí probar con el crochet irlandés. Hay montón de enlaces, tutoriales y gráficos en la web acerca de esta técnica. He posteado varios en mi tablón "crochet" de pinterest. Se hacen flores, hojas, mariposas, lo que queráis, que después se unen con una red de cadenetas y puntos altos. Escogí algo no muy complicado, solo una flor y unas hojas, en colores que combinaban con los de la falda. Y una vez hecho el "parche", lo prendí con alfileres, lo mojé un poco y lo dejé secar para que no perdiera la forma. Aquí veis una foto de ese proceso.

Then I decided to make a crochet patch. It would have a shape that covered both holes, but also had to look nice in the skirt. It was so difficult to find a flower or something that fulfil these two conditions. So I decided to try to make it in Irish crochet. There are plenty of examples, tutes and patterns on the web about Irish Crochet. I have pinned several on my "crochet" board on Pinterest. You make flowers, leaves, butterflies, whatever, and the linked them crochetting a net with chains and doble crochet. I chose and easy one, just a flower and some leaves, using colours similar to those on the skirt. And when my patch was made, I pinned and wet it, just to make it show the correct shape. You can see here a picture of the patch.

Aquí podéis ver el parche sujeto con alfileres en su lugar en la falda, tapando los agujeros.

And you can see the patch pinned in place, covering both holes.

Y aquí el resultado final, después de coserlo con pequeñas puntadas con hilo marrón y recortar la tela detrás del parche. Ha quedado muy bien, parece que venía de fábrica con la falda.

And here is the final result, after sewing the patch with little stitches with brown thread. I'm very happy with the result, it seems that the patch has always been there.
